I am interested in developing innovative teaching strategies for improving students’ mathematics learning. In particular, I am studying the effective integration of technology into learning and teaching mathematics. In recent years, computer and the Internet technology have shown breathtaking advances. As a result of this, students more often experience various representations of mathematics concepts than those in the past. Therefore, it is crucial to examine students’ learning of mathematical ideas on technology based learning settings.

Throughout my academic studies, I have focused on the following research areas.

• Designing effective online learning environments to improve students’ mathematics learning
• Effective integration of Internet technologies into mathematics instruction
• Assessment of teachers’ knowledge for effective mathematics teaching, preparation of future teachers, and professional development of inservice mathematics teachers
• Effects of curriculum materials on students’ and teachers’ learning, and developing coherent curriculum to enhance students’ math knowledge
